2 cups flour
1 tsp baking flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp shortening
3/4 cup buttermilk
Preheat oven at 425 F.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Sift
together.
Cut shortening into flour.
Stir milk into mixture with a fork until flour leaves sides of
bowl.
Turn out onto floured board and pat 1/2" thick.
Cut with floured cookie cutter and place on lightly greased
baking sheet.
Bake 15 minutes. Makes 16-20 biscuits.
NOTE: It is optional to mix in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
