Chisholm was married three times with the last being a Mrs. Bowman or a Mrs. Thomas
In 1806, Chisholm moved to Buncombe County, NC, then to Rutherford County and finally to Rockingham County VA (NC?) where he died.

He was married to Mary Ann SCOTT.

He was also married to Polly BRIGGS who bore him John GRIFFITH.
