July 1971 - A "Yassur" helicopter fell into the sea
near Yamit. Ten soldiers were killed.
April 1974 - Two "Yassur" helicopters crashed at
the Machanayim air base. Eight aircraft personnel
and soldiers were killed.
April 1974 - A "Super Frelon" helicopter crashed
while evacuating wounded from the Hermon. Six
soldiers were killed.
May 1977 - 54 paratroopers and aircraft personnel
were killed in a "Yassur" crash, during a military
exercise in Jericho.
August 1984 - A "Yassur" helicopter crashed into a
hillside while attempting a landing near Maaleh
Adumim. One IDF soldier was killed.
September 1984 - Four soldiers were killed in an
"Anafa" helicopter crash, during maneuvers.
March 1987 - A "Cobra" helicopter crashed near
Kibbutz Tirat Zvi during a practice flight, resulting in
the death of an officer.
December 1988 - A "Yassur" helicopter crashed
north of the Sagi Mountain, resulting in the death of
Captain Mordechai Sharon.
April 1990 - Two "Yassur" helicopters crashed
during maneuvers in the Maaleh Ephraim region,
resulting in the deaths of seven officers.
July 1992 - An "Anafa" helicopter crash near Rosh
Hanikra. Of the six persons on board, five were
saved by the Israel Navy. The sixth soldier was
killed.
January 1994 - A "Saifan" helicopter crashed after
becoming entangled in an communications antenna,
while attempting to land at the Central Command
base, resulting in the deaths of four officers.
December 1994 - An "Anafa" helicopter crashed in
the central region during inspection of a site,
resulting in the death of one officer and one soldier.
February 1994 - A "Yassur" helicopter crashed a
short time after take-off, in the Judaean Desert. As a
result, seven soldiers were killed.
September 1996 - A "Dolphin" helicopter crashed
during maneuvers near the Nahariya beach,
resulting in the deaths of two officers. Another
officer, who was on the helicopter, is still missing in
action.
