Also known as Pa Seat.
It is told that Pa Seat's nickname came from the tradition of his being particularly
possessive of a small stool when he was a little boy, so his parents nicknamed him
Seat. The Pa got tacked on years later. Both William and wife Sarah would come to
be known as Ma and Pa Seat.

The Big Tree stood at the junction of the roads at Faisons Old Tavern.
Reputation has it that early courts were held beneath this tree, and that when the roads came through and workman were to cut it down, Pa Seat, armed, dared anyone to touch it. Of course progress prevailed and the tree was eventually cut down.
