William Davidson was born approx. 1806 in or around Hookstown, Beaver Co, Pa.. We have located his gravestone in Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, Mo.. The last known census was in 1880 which only shows Margaret Davidson, his wife and the only child at home with her was Sherman P. Davidson Sr. William died in Oct. 1875.
William and Margaret had twelve children in this union..Eight
children born in Beaver Co, Pa. and four children born in Moundsville Marshall Co, W.V.>BR>
To this point, William has hid his where abouts very well.. There
are a number of people that have actively helped me search for this sly old fox..

William Davidson's father moved from Maine to Pennsylvania with his family
with teams of oxen.
William Davidson. Lived to be 70 years of
age. HAD THREE SETS OF NATURAL TEETH!

William Davidson was born about 1806 died Jan 1875 in Kansas City,

CAME FROM GERMANY) Margaret was a Methodist. Both are buried at
Independence, MO. William Davidson's father was Robert Davidson born in
Maine, died in Pittsburgh, PA., or Beaver, PA. Robert Davidson married Elizabeth or Katherine (maybe Neely) they had
fourteen children
It then lists the 16 children of William Davidson and Margaret Pennington.
There is some interesting information about each of these children. If you
don't already have it, let me know and I'll send it too you. ok? Cynthia
Ellen Davidson said her mother (Margaret) ran a millinery store in Wheeling,
WV before the Civil Was and paid a dollar a yard for calico. Her father
moved from Pennsylvania to West Virginia just before the Civil War. He moved
from West Virginia to Independence, MO 1870. Her father(Cynthia's) William
was born close to Pittsburg, PA, died about 1878 in Independence MO where he
is buried. Lived there on a farm four years. Was 69 years of age when
he died. Had dark hair. Very straight and slim. Born about 1806. He and
his wife were reared close together.(Maybe we are looking for her information
in the wrong areas.) His folks came from MAINE. He was nicknamed "Steamboat
Bill" Republican. He lived near where he was born until about 1870 when he
and his family moved to Independence, MO on a river boat. He was a river
pilot in his younger days. He would say he was the SEVENTH SON OF THE
SEVENTH GENERATION OF YANKEE BLOOD, AND RESENTED EVER HAVING ANY REFERENCE
MADE OF HIS ANCESTORS BEING FOREIGNERS. (These people have been in this
country a long time!) VOLUNTEERED ON NORTHERN SIDE IN CIVIL WAR. Was refused
because of rupture. Was drafted four years later, but the war soon closed,
before serving. DAVID PENNINGTON died fighting a prairie fire in Keokuk,
Iowa

Margaret Pennington was born in 1819 somewhere in Ohio and later
moved to Beaver Co, Pa. with her family. One census (1820) shows
that there were three females and one male born to David Pennington
and Catherine Pennington. (maiden name unknown) Margaret was traced
to Kansas City, MO. and then to Kansas City, Kansas where she died
a horrible death in the fire of her small cottage in 1898.
