Joan has two books that contain names from Marquette Co, and would be willing to look up names for anyone.
1. "Memorial Record of the Northern Peninsula of Michigan". The Lewis Publishing Company, Pub. 1895
2. "History of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan". The Wester Historical Company, Pub. 1883.
Also, the "Biographical Record of Hought, Baraga,Marquette Counties cw/1903. I also have "East Hancock Revisited", history of a neighborhood circa 1880-1920 by Eleanor A. Alexander.
These books list persons of those times and I would be happy to look up any surnames for persons. The counties included in the History are:Baraga, Chippewa, Delta, Houghton, Keweenaw, Mackinac, MARQUETTE, Menonimee, Ontonagon, Schoolcraft.

I have a book printed in 1895 called Memorial Record of the Northern Peninsula of Michigan, published by The Lewis Publishing Company. In it are perhaps 800 to 1000 short biographical sketches of subscribers for which they paid $15.00 in 1895 to be included in this book. I would be happy to do lookups for anyone interested.

I have a copy of a booklet about the St. John the Baptiste Catholic Church printed in 1909 and has much interesting information about the church, memberships, memorials, donations, etc. If anyone is interested in any of this information feel free to contact me. .

I have the only available copy of REPUBLIC CEMETERY, 1870 - 1990, MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI. (Tombstone Transcriptions)
The book includes the main cemetery, the Catholic part, and the Serepta Home for the Aged part.
