Fire prevention week "98"
This is the Kids Safety House. It was purchased by the Custer County Fire Chiefs Assoc. through donations from county businesses and individual contributions.
From this room small room all functions of the house can be controlled. Smoke can be injected into all three of the training rooms at once or into seperate rooms in any combination. Smoke detectors, heated doors, audio/video equipment, lights and exhaust fans are some of the other features of the Kids Safety House.
In the two bedrooms of the house the children are taught skills to escape smoke and fire. once instructed, the room is filled with smoke, the heated door simulates fire in the next room, and the children make an escape through the bedroom window.
These guys just made an escape from the upper level bedroom.
These girls, at their predesignated meeting place, are reporting the fire to the fire department. They have been instructed how to give important information to the dispatcher. Their call is actually being answered by the person in the control room.
