The Van Buren County Historical Society was organized in 1988. It meets
on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the museum on Third
and Popular Streets in Clinton.
Annual membership dues are $10.00, payable in January, entitles each
member to four editions of the Journal, published quarterly.
Any correspondence may be addressed to Van Buren County Historical
Society at the above P.O. Box address.
Of special interest to those researching on location in Van Buren County
is the museum maintained by The Van Buren County Historical Society in
Clinton, AR. A definite "must see" if you plan on going to Van
Buren to do research. An incredible collection of Van Buren Co. artifacts
have been donated and gathered together by the society for display there.
Much more than a museum, be ready to do research when you go. Along with
the artifacts are years of genealogical donations also, including the Genealogical
Societies writings themselves. The genealogical archives are cross referenced
to make finding easier. Also available for clubs and organizations, the
museum building has an auditorium with kitchen facilities, speaker system,
stage, and piano are available for those wishing to hold genealogical meetings
or gatherings with a special touch.

This is a true not for profit society who's museum and genealogical
activities are funded solely through volunteers, donations, and sales.
Anyone wishing to help through donations, knowledge, documents or artifacts
as this museum works on gaining museum status so it can qualify for funds
to put more valuable artifacts and documents under glass, it would be greatly
appreciated and a worthy cause.
