Jesse Handy's Will
This is the will of my 4th great grandfather's will. I have transcribed it exactly as it is. Except for the fact that I captialized all the last names to make them easier to find. Hope you find it interesting.
This is from the Green Co., Ky. Will Book 3 pg. 271, 24th June 1862
In the year of our lord June 24th 1862 the last will and testament of Jesse Handy of Green County Ky Considering the unsertanty of this mortal life and being of Soung mind and memory do make and publish to all who this may concern in manner and form following that is to say first that I appoint R A Handy my only executor to pay all my debts and collect all comeing to me and all my estate is to be ??? to Support me and my wife Elizabeth Handy the land is to be sold and after our death and all expences is paid if any thing left all my children is to have one dollar out of my estate and the ballance is to be equally divided between Rachel Toty and Sally McCinney

At a County Court held for Green County on the 16th day of November 1863 A writing purporting to be the last will of Jesse Handy and testament was produced into court by R A Handy and proven by the oaths of R A Handy & J. Goff to be the last will and testament of Jesse Handy Decd and that the same was signed sealed and published in their presence by the said Jesse Handy as his last will and testament and that they believed him to be of sound mind and memory at the time of Signing the same and the same was ordered to be recorded as the last will and testament of the said Jesse Handy which is done accordingly. Given under my hand this 16th day of November 1863.
