Barbara Fishburn was married at age 16 to Jacob Knowles and to this union was born 8 children. After the death of Jacob Knowles, Barbara married Judge Hood of Ohio and in 1883 she moved to Hastings. She resided there until her death in May of 1886 at the age of 92. Niobrara Chapter marked the grave site.
