Lucy Willis was born at Belgrade, Maine, on November 26, 1819, the daughter of James Wills, a patriot of the Revolutionary War from Rhode Island. She married Mr. Tibbits and they were parents of 7 children. Her husband died in 1889, and her son, Joseph Tibbets brought her to his home in Beatrice, NE. She died March 27, 1907 at Beatrice with burial in the Beatrice Cemetery. Her grave was marked by Elizabeth Montague Chapter.
