Sarah Fletcher, daughter of Robert Fletcher, was born October 31, 1814, at Lowell, MS. Besides her father, she had five brothers who took part in the Revolutionary War. Her mother was Ruth Pierce, a first cousin to Franklin Pierce, the 14th President of the United States. She died January 17, 1901 at Red Oak, IA. She was a member of the Deborah Avery Chapter. This chapter dedicated a marker on her grave October 19, 1926 at Red Oak, IA.
