How to Obtain Copies of Veterans Records
from the National Archives
The instructions on this page are for obtaining records of veterans who served in the U. S. military prior to World War 1 ONLY. To obtain records relating to service in World War I or II, or subsequent service, write to:

All requests for veterans records prior to World War I must be submitted on a NATF Form 80. Use a separate form for each file that you request. To obtain NATF Form 80, write to the following address:
