John Romeis on the eight day of September A. D. 1854 legal proof was made of the death of John Romeis- a nation of Schifferstadt- near Splyer, Proving Pfalz, Kingdom of Bavaris.  The said death took place at the residence of said John Romeis deceased in the city of Bellville County of St. Clair and State of Illinois, being the Bellville Justice Dist. Of said county on the 20 day of July A. D. 1854 at about 2 in the A. M. and he was aged 52 years.
