Prayer is the Soul's Sincere Desire
Prayer is the soul's sincere desire, Unuttered or expressed;
The motion of a hidden fire That trembles in the breast.
Prayer is the burden of a sigh; The falling of a tear;
the upward glancing of an eye, When none but God is near.
Prayer is the contrite sinner's voice Returning from his ways,
While angels in their songs rejoice, And say "Behold, he prays."
Prayer is the Christian's vital breath, The Christian's native air,
His watchword at the gate of death; He enters heav'n with prayer.
Amen

Keep your servant from willful
sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great
transgression.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in
your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Ps 19:13-14 (NIV)
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our
maker.
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep
of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Ps 95:6-7 (KJV)
