On January 8th, 1999, Adia's 5th litter was 34 days old, and Adia was getting somewhat pudgy. She usually waited like 7 weeks or so to have another litter, if not longer, so I wasn't really sure she was pregnant. Well, that night, I noticed some odd behavior. She was building a nest in her big blue dish, which she never died except when she had young pups, and she kept trying to grab the 5 wk olds by the scruff of the neck, like a pup. I figured she must be getting ready to have pups so I removed the older litter. Sure enough I awoke at 10am the next day to find 6 squeaky little pups, with their bellies full of milk!

1/16/99 Well, Ares is an agouti spot male, Artemis is an agouti male, Oceanus and Zues are argente spot males, and Calliope is an argente spot female. No lilacs! = ( I guess I was hallucinating!

1/15/99 All the pinkies are spotted = ) I'm sure one is argente, one is probably lilac spot but the 3rd I'm not too sure on. Of course they'll probably ALL turn out to be argente ;) All the darkies are agoutis.

1/13/99 I'm starting to think both pups are agoutis (the darkies). Pinkies are still pink ;)

1/10/99 One of the agoutis/blacks is spotted, the other is not. Unfortunately we lost one of the pink eyed pups = ( I think it was the one that looked especially small.
