Thomas Gadd

Pension #S-31050

Thomas was born in February 1760 in Maryland, the fifith child of William Gadd and Mary Standford.

In a sworn affidavit on file, dated February 25, 1833, he states before the magistrate of Rockcastle County, Kentucky, that he was 73 years of age. He served in the Maryland Militia under Captain Stausberry. Thomas served six months, lasting four to five weeks at a time, protecting the city of Baltimore, Maryland.

Eventually Thomas would leave Maryland, spend a short time in Franklin County, VA, then go to Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Thomas died between 1833-1840, as there is no record of him at that time.

Thomas is supposedly buried in the Gadd Cemetery in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, in an unmarked grave. His wife's identity is unknown at this time.
