Texas Scottish Festival & Highland GamesJune 7-9, 2002 Well, this was quite an experience! I had booked airfare to go out to visit a friend and his family, purposely coinciding my visit so that I could attend these games and say hello to fellow CLS members of the South West branch. It turned out to be great fun. The games were much larger in attendance, vendors, and activities than those that I am used to here in NJ. NJ Highland games don't disappoint me; it was just nice to see a games of much larger scope. I was able to visit the CLS tent at the games and see my friends David Leslie White and Tim Leslie. Also there for me to greet was Madolyn Leslie Stewart and Joseph Lesley. I met an Abernathy family as well (they're in the parade photo below). I participated in the parade and in their branch meeting. David had some gorgeous photos of Leslie Castle, which he has sent me digital copies of so I can use them on my CLS board for my tent display. I found these games very entertaining and hope that someday I can return. Maybe David will host a Gathering in the future? My feelings on this are: Hopefully!
