My fourth greatgrandfather, Hezekiah C. Lyle, went from Georgia to Pope County Arkansas in
the late 1830's. He was back in Georgia by 1842 and married Louisa McElroy (Muckleroy). I
suspect he had Cherokee or his first wife had Cherokee ancestry. I thin he also lived in
Tippah County, Mississippi later on. Any information about him would be greatly
appreciated. Oh, he was also in Carroll County, GA in 1820.

Beginning genealogy of LYALL. By word of mouth our known history starts in England. George
Lyall was a blacksmith for the King of England. Then he immigrated to USA and his two
sisters went to Australia probably in the late 1800s. George settled in W.PA. He had three
sons: George, Ferdinand, and Albert. Ferdinand and Albert had no children. George had a
son George and two daughters Dorcus and Eunice. Any information on the sisters who went to
Australia would be helpful.

I am researching some conflicting information that I have on my ancestor DOSHIA LYLE b
abt.1800 in South Carolina. She married Benjamin Carroll in approx. 1818 and she died
August 16, 1883. She is buried in Allgood Cemetary in Georgia. Her father was JO N LYLE b
1769 in South Carolina d. 1851. John married Elizabeth Finley who died in 1861. Both died
in Paulding co., GA. It is after this that my information becomes contradicting. I have
some information that says that John's parents were ROBERT LYLE b in Larne, County Antrim,
Ireland about 1740 and other information that John's parents were Elizabeth Gibson and
MAHER SHALLAL HASBIZ LYLE. The ROBERT LYLE line goes all the way back to John Knox and
Sally Locke of Scotland. If anyone can help in this I w uld really appreciate this. Thanks
