I was given numerous Burma-Shave signs, Burma-Vita still in the bottles and boxes, lots of original Burma-Shave products still in boxes, original studio LP's of the jingles... some never used I believe, and other unusual Burma-Shave items. Who out there
nows of sites/people who know about these type shaving items and memorabilia? Thanks!

I recently bought a new Merkur slant bar and retired my old one, a silver-plated one apparently made by Merkur for Hoffritz. Two questions though. 1)What year did this slant bar design first make its appearance? 2)Was this the design that James Bond used
n one of the Ian Fleming thrillers? If so, what was the name of the book?

I do own an old Merkur safety (slant) razor which lead me to rediscover what a great shave one can experience with a safety razor. I have since purchased a new Merkur(and blades) and consider myself a 'shaving enthusiast'. While in search of the perfect s

Keep on shaving,

I am an industrial design student at Auburn University researching an antique Gillette razor for a Design History project. Our assignment is to purchase an antique (or at least 20 years old) product for less than $20, research the history of this type of

Dear fellow collector,
I collect wrappers of safety razor blades for many years. Unfortunatly, I did not touched my collection (~8000 wrappers, mostly without blades) since I came to this country from Russia almost 14 years ago. Now, I think, it is time for me to start all over
again. To this end, I am trying to get in touch with as many collectors as I can find. I would appreciate it you can answer me, so we can start some kind of cooperation/correspondence/trading, etc.
Sincerely,

well, I kind of like what you're doing, but for an advance collector as me, there's really not much for me in there. you've done a nice job of listing and showing the pics, please don't get involved in a value guide---it can only hurt us, not help--one ma
's meat is another's potatos--"what you paid is not the value, it's merely the cost." if a dealer gets into this page and finds prices, those prices become his bible.

Little did I realize how interesting was the humble razor. I loved
the picture of the man shaving with the axe, having had a few shaving experiences
that felt that way in my time. Your monthly feature was a joy to read and
your editorial left me with a greater respect for the philosophical underpinnings
of the humble blade! Congratulations on a fine job, your page was a pleasure
to visit!
