Elko County Sheriff's Office

The Elko County Sheriff's Office has a very large area to serve. There are a couple of different substations. One is up in Jackpot, which is north of Wells at the Idaho border. I hope that somebody can tell me exactly where the others are.

Elko patch This is the first patch I am aware of. There may be an earlier one. Just an interesting note for those of you who don't know. In Nevada, the Sheriff's Office of each county is required to maintain the jail. Most police departments in Nevada don't have a jail facility. That is taken care of by the Sheriff's offices around the state. This has been mandated by the State Legislature.

This patch with the black line is in memory of a Deputy who was killed in the line of duty. There has been speculation from some collectors that this patch is a fake. I don't know, but as soon as I find out, I will post the correct information. If this is a fake, it will be removed. If not, then I will update the correct information.
