Nye County Sheriff's Office

The Nye County Sheriff's Office has the largest area to patrol in the state of Nevada. The county seat is Tonopah. Tonopah PD is defunct, and services there are provided by the Nye Co. S.O. The Tonopah PD patch is on my TEN MOST WANTED page. There are several substations, including Round Mountain, Beatty, and Parumph.

LEFT - This scan was sent to me by James "Bubba" Pate. This patch isn't in my collection and I would love to get it. It appears to be older than the "single gun". In fact, I am offering a $30 reward for this patch. I am also offering a $30 reward for any Nye Co. S.O. patch with the Mushroom Cloud on it.

I would venture a guess that this patch is actually older than the one above right. However, I don't know for sure. This is one of my favorite Nevada patches. I call it the Nye "single gun". I have heard, but never seen that there is another patch of this same design, except that it has double guns. I would really like to get one of those.

I have placed the patches on this page in the order I think they belong in, chronologically speaking.
As you can see these two patches are very similar. The lettering and the border are different however. I think the fill in around the center came after the single lines as in the first patch.

The patch on the far left is the first that has the county shape in the center. Although this is a scan of a well used patch, I still consider it one of the harder to get patches in my collection.
Immediate left may be the current style patch. The reason I think this is the current patch is because it is the same color as the Explorer patch.

LEFT - This is the Explorer patch. There is no information available as to what the program consists of at this time.
RIGHT - This is Cadet badge patch. Could the Cadet and the Explorer program be the same? Thanks again to Pate for the Cadet patch scan.

There are two badge patches that I have been able to find. This is probably the first of the two, because of the plainness. This is probably the current style badge patch. As with all the other pages, I would hope that anyone with information would let me know, so that corrections can be made where necessary. Thanks to Pate again, I have a scan of this patch for my page. I think this is probably a breast patch of some sort. I'll fill in the info when I get it.
