Washoe County School Police

The agency was established in 1988. Here is an agency that almost went defunct. It looks as though those problems are in the past and the agency is here to stay. The uniformed officers are currently unarmed, although they are Category I certified. Indications are that the uniformed officers will soon be armed. The three Investigators carry firearms, and are also cast into the role of supervisors.

This round patch which says Officer was in use from around 1972 until 1991.

This brown rectangular patch was a badge patch used on a brown windbreaker from about 1988 until 1994. At the time, this was an off the shelf patch, but was actually custom designed for the agency. According to some sources, the uniform at that time was really ugly...

This CHP shape patch is the current style, and has been worn since about 1994. I don't have current information about the badge patch, but it looks modern in design.
