The Richardson family is one of the my most interesting families.   Growing up there were many references made to them.  Once starting genealogy, little did I know of their rich heritage in Moore Co NC.

Some of the earliest settlers of Moore Co were Richardson's.  There are 3 names floating around - John, Thomas, and William.  Yet according to Rassie Wicker, a historian for Moore County there were only 2 early Richardson's.  There are contradictions of names from his work.

The earliest reference made to Richardson was in 1745.  I have located a William Richardson and wife Elizabeth in the Cumberland County records.  I believe this to be the William Richardson who died in Randolph County.  And believe this is the William who sold land to Drury, my ancestor, in 1765.

There is also a possible connection to the Feagins.  The Feagin family appeared in Moore County at approxiamtely the same time as the early Richardsons.  Suzanne Richardson, daughter of Stephen of Pastaqunek County married George Feagin and moved to Moore Co.  Is there a connection between John, Thomas and William to Stephen?  A Stephen did appear later.  There is a belief that Stephen is the brother to the 3 above.

Let's start with the known head of this family
