We normally don't travel on holidays, but this year, we decided to do a short road trip on Memorial Day.  Jeff had a great idea to have the family visit his work place, then head out to the beaches in Santa Barbara.  We did all this and still had time to make it back to work the afternoon shift at the ice cream store.  It was a sweet family outing. The kids had fun playing in the sand and zipping through the waves.  

Aly graduated from Kindergarten in June!  The graduates wore men's white dress shirts backwards as gowns.  (Betcha didn't even notice if I hadn't mentioned it. hee!)  We're so proud of Aly's achievements.  She loves school and homework.  This year, she learned how to write full sentences and read.  I can't believe that I actually survived making a bag lunch for Aly everyday this past school year! You can only make so many different versions of a salami sandwich.

We celebrated another birthday this month.  It was Jenn's big ....   Jeff and the kids surprised me with wonderful presents and gift cards to our favorite places.  (Target, Jamba, and McDonalds) They even got me my favorite peach pie for dessert!  The night before my birthday, Jeff managed to throw a surprise dinner for me with some good friends at Red Robins.  My family rolled out the red carpet for me and it was a very special celebration for me.
