This was written by Deedee's owner, Jennifer: "Deedee was the smartest, pushiest, and most talkative best friend. She was very close to being human, understood a tremendous amount of English, and liked to play tricks on the other dogs. She was not dog aggressive, but could look out for herself in times of trouble. Her temperament was considered old fashioned. She did not wear her heart on her sleeve with strangers, but was cautiously friendly. You had to earn her love and respect. She liked to sleep on the kitchen table so she could hear my car come up the driveway. In 1998, at 10 1/2 years old, we made a hard decision, due to the pain of cancer, we had to say goodbye." |
