On this page are just a few things I hope will encourage and uplift you. There are some rather serious poems and verses interspersed with what I call, "Zingers" that
are a bit more on the lighthearted side.

Heart of Love
There is beauty in the forest, when the trees are grown and fair;
There is beauty in the meadow, when wild flowers scent the air;
There is beauty in the sunlight and the soft blue beams above;

If you don't want to be forgotten...
write your name in kindness, love, and mercy on the hearts of others.
Let Your Light Shine Bright
There's a red light on my coffe pot, a red light on my mixer.
A white one on my microwave, and one on my "hair fixer".
There's a small one on my doorbell, and on my VCR,
Another on my radio, and on my smoke alarm.
My stereo has one that moves, my TV has a few.
There's even one on my washer, and on my dryer, too.
There's a bright one on my telephone, and the answering machine.
And when you leave a message, there's even one that's green.
When I get into my car to leave, there's lots of them you know.
There's one that says my brake is on, and one for oil that's low.
One says, "fasten seat belts", before you forge ahead.
And one says you can't go right now, your battery's almost dead.
Since people so depend on lights, I'm sure you will agree,
It's best to keep your "Christ Light" on, for all the world to see.
And when they ask, "What is that light?", the answer to the question...
"It's the love Christ puts inside your heart, when you accept salvation."
So let your light for Christ shine BRIGHT, don't turn the flame down low.
Let others see Christ in your life, so Him they'll want to know.

The Joyful Heart
Thank the Lord for little things, for they can surely grow,
into the greatest treasures, that you may ever know.
Don't covet worldly riches that may not be for you.
Nor overlook the special gifts that God has given you.
Let giving outweigh getting on your scale of happiness.
And your joyfull heart will bask in the glow of Godliness.

You'll add to your joy when you count your blessings.
Since you cannot have all you want, make your life happy by wanting what you have.
THE NIGHT
The night is dark. The moon is out.
The stars are twinkling in the sky.
The owls are flying to and fro.
The bears are walking by.
The night is done. The moon has set.
The owls are sleeping now.
The bears are resting in their den.
Now I wake up to prowl.

"Zinger"
Every day is a good day.... if you don't think so,
just try missing one.
Hugging is Practically Perfect
It's wonderful what a hug can do.
A hug can cheer you when you're blue.
A hug can say, "I love you so."
Or, "Gee I hate to see you go."
A hug is, "Welcome back again."
And, "Great to see you! Where've you been?"
A hug can soothe a small childs pain,
And bring a rainbow after rain.
The hug! There's just no doubt about it...
We scarcely could survive without it!
A hug delights and warms and charms.
It must be why God gave us arms.
Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers.
And chances are your favorite aunts
Love them more than potted plants.
Kittens crave them, puppies love them.
Heads of State are not above them.
A hug can break the language barrier,
And make your travels so much merrier.
No need to fret about your store of 'em,
The more you give the more there's more of 'em.
So stretch those arms without delay,
And give someone a HUG today!

CONSOLATION
There is never a day so dreary, but God can make it bright,
and unto the soul that trusts Him, He giveth songs in the night.
There is never a path so hidden, but God can lead the way,
if we seek the Sprirt's guidance and patiently wait and pray.
There is never a cross so heavy, but the nail-scarred hands are there
outstretched in tender compassion, the burdens to help us bear.
There is never a heart so broken, but the loving Lord can heal.
The heart that was pierced on Calvary, doth still for His loved ones feel.
There is never a life so darkened, so hopeless and unblessed,
But may be filled with the light of God and enter His promised rest.
There is never a sin or sorrow, there is never a care or loss,
But that we may bring to Jesus and leave at the foot of the cross.

It's nice to be important - but it's more important to be nice.
