TABERG -- Benjamin S. Armstrong, 73, was found dead in bed at his home on the Meadows Road this morning. Coroner Thomas A. Cox, Rome was called.
He was born May 11, 1872 in Annsville, a son of the late Sidney and Jane Pexton Armstrong. He married Alice Mansfield in Rome on May 20, 1897.
He had lived all his life in Annsville and for 25 years was employed at the Federal Creosote Works in Rome.
He leaves his widow; five sons, Elmer, at home; James, Westmoreland; Jesse and Frank, Blossvale; Ellsworth, Lee Center; six daughters, Mrs. Emma Hicks and Mrs. Charles Connors, Rome; Mrs. Bessie Fox, New York City; Mrs. George Bennett, Lowell; Mrs. Samuel Odell, Westmoreland; Miss Mabel Armstrong, Rome; also 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a brother Jesse, Rome.
Funeral services will be held at his home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. F. Miller officiating. Interment in charge of B. A. Sanborn & Son, Camden, will be made in Maple Hill Cemetery.
