Taberg Man Dies at 81 in Hospital

David W. Armstrong, 81, of RD 3, Meadows Road, Taberg, a retired farmer and former employe of Revere's Rome Manufacturing Co. Division, died this morning at Rome Hospital.

He was the father of Mrs. Leo (Doris) Zike and Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Coy, both of Rome.

Mr. Armstrong was born Aug. 14, 1887, in the Town of Annsville, son of David and Jane Richard Armstrong. He had been a resident of Taberg most of his life.

He married the former Sarah J. Jones in Taberg on Sept. 2, 1914. Mr. Armstrong retired several years ago.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving besides his wife and daughters in Rome are two sons, Francis D. Armstrong, Kissimmee, Fla., and Ervin L. Armstrong, Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Griffin and Aldridge Funeral Home with the Rev. David N. Boswell officiating. Interment will be in Wright Settlement Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home of Griffin & Aldridge Inc. on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Wright Settlement Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
