At 9 o'clock Wednesday night, Nov. 23d, at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Fred Swanson occurred the
death of Mrs. Charles Bailey, a sufferer from tubercular trouble. Deceased was formerly Edna
Armstrong, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Armstrong of Maple Flats. She was born in West Vienna
26 years ago and married Mr. Bailey August 11, 1907, at Sauquoit, where they lived until she was
taken ill, when she went to her father's home. She came to Camden last August, Mr. Bailey having
previously engaged at his trade as a barber with B. J. Shaver. Soon after her arrival she went
to the home of her aunt, where she has been tenderly cared for until death claimed her. Though
few knew her here there are many in her home town and Cleveland who sincerely mourn her early
demise.
Besides her husband she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Armstrong; four brothers, John
of Jackson, Mich., William of Utica and Bennison and Ralph of West Vienna, and three sisters,
Mrs. Herman Louis and Mrs. L. J. Audas of Vander Kamp and Clarrissa Armstrong of West Vienna.
The funeral was held Sunday at the home of her father and later from the church at Maple Flats.
The attendance was very large and a profusion of flowers attested the sorrow so keenly felt by
mourning friends. Many were present from away, among them being a delegation of ten friends of
Mr. Bailey from his former home in Saquoit. Rev. Mr. Wood of Cleveland conducted the services.
