CLINTON -- Mrs. Lundie Audas, 88, of Route 12, a retired employe of Rome Developmental Center, died Saturday in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center, New Hartford, after a brief illness.
The former Elsie Armstrong she was born in Vienna, Sept. 26, 1886, daughter of Lewellyn and Ida Rice Armstrong. She attended Vienna schools. She worked at the Order of the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany, for several years before joining the staff of the state facility in Rome. She retired in 1942, when she moved from the Vienna-Rome area to Clinton.
She and Mr. Audas were married in Vienna March 13, 1907. He died May 7, 1960. She was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church and a former member of the Camden Grange.
She leaves a son, Harold J. Audas, Clinton; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Clarissa) Suits, Vernon; a grandchild and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Owens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery, Camden.
Calling hours are today 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
