DEATH OF MRS. ESTELLA GROAT

Occurred in Rome Hospital Saturday -- Funeral in Camden Tuesday Morning.

In the Rome City Hospital, Saturday, occurred the death of Mrs. Estella Groat, a former respected
resident of Camden. She had been confined to the hospital for a week.

Mrs. Groat was born at Florence, July 23, 1869, and her father and mother were Stoddard Loveland
and Sophronia Balcom. She married J. Groat 18 years ago and he died two years ago. Mrs. Groat
had spent practically all her life in Florence and Camden. She went to Rome to live last
November. To a wide circle of friends she was well known and respected by everyone. She is
survived by the following sisters and brothers: Amos Burningham, Verona; Mrs. James Paddock,
Camden, Mrs. Michael Bartholomew, Rome; George Loveland, Holland, Mich.; James and Nelson
Loveland, Camden, and Stephen Loveland of N.H.

Undertaker B. A. Sanborn was called to Rome to take charge of the remains which he brought to
his home of Second St. where the funeral was held at 11 o'clock Tuesday evening. Rev. L. G.
Colson officiating. The bearers were former neighbors from Wolcott Hill -- Warren ? , Charles
Waldron, H. Wells Sanford and Hugh Wasson. Interment was made in Westdale.

From out of town were present Herbert Simpkins of Oneida, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Burningham and son
John, Verona; Mr. and Mrs. M. Bartholomew, Rome; Mrs. James Paddock, East Florence; Mrs. W. D.
Rowell, Westdale.

GROAT -- In Rome, N.Y., March 30, 1918, Mrs. Estella Groat, widow of Jay Groat, in her 49th year.
