George B. Lock Passes Away Suddenly

George B. Lock, 482 Taylor Ave., aged 59 years died suddenly on Monday morning May 22 from cerebral
hemorrhage. He became ill soon after awaking, and called to Mrs. Lock who responded at once, and
quickly summoned the doctor, but he soon lapsed into unconsciousness and passed away before noon.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Methodist church, the Rev. C. A.
Bloomquist offficiating. Burial was at Fairmont cemetery near Willow Springs.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Lock, the deceased is survived by three children: Earl G. Lock,
Mrs. Kathyrn Lock Harlan, and Miss Dorothy Lock, a teacher in the Main Street School. There are
also three grandchildren. There are also three brothers: Henry Lock of Lake Odessa, Mich., who
was here for the funeral; Charles and Frank Lock, who live in New York, and a sister, Mrs. H. E.
Richardson, also of New York.

Mrs. Lock's aged mother, Mrs. John Dangel, and her sister, Miss Lillian Dangel of Merced, Cal.,
both old residents of Glen Ellyn came to the funeral of Mr. Lock and will be here for some time to
see old friends.

Mr. Lock was born in Redfield, New York, in 1874. He came to Chicago at the time of the World's
Fair in 1893. He was married to Kathryn Dangel in 1898. The family has resided in Glen Ellyn
since 1923. Mr. Lock had been in the service of the United States government in the customs
department in Chicago for 33 years and old friends among the government employees there acted as
pallbearers at the funeral.
