PARKE -- In Camden, the 15th inst. of consumption, Mrs. Gertrude E. Parke, wife of Ranney Parke and youngest child of Mrs. R. Godfrey, in the 28th year of her age.
The death of Mrs. P. has left a void in the family circle, in society and in the church, which is keenly felt. Her devoted heart, her consistent Christian life, her deeds of love, have diffused a fragrance around her memory to embalm it in the recollection of surviving friends.
During her sickness she exhibited a patient and submissive hope. She met her change with childlike trust in Christ, her Saviour. In early life she has been called from earth, and while her heart clung with natural affection to her infant child and relatives, she meekly obeyed the summons.
Her funeral was attended from her home, on Thursday, the 17th inst. and her body committed to the earth in the beautiful services of the Protestant Episcopal Church, in the hope of a glorious resurrection.
"She is not dead, but sleepeth."
