Last evening, after an illness of several months, Hastings F. Curtiss, who has in his life been prominently identified with Camden, passed away.
Mr. Curtiss was born in Hastings, Oswego Co., 66 years ago. In early childhood he lost his parents and came to Camden and lived for years with his uncle, the late Ambrose Curtiss. He was a business man of more than usual marked ability, and prospered for seventeen years as a merchant and banker. The most of the latter part of his life has been spent in New York city in business, although his family lived in Camden. He married Brittania, daughter of Ambrose Curtiss, who died about two years ago. Of their two children who attained maturity, a daughter and son, Olive who became the wife of Egbert More, and Hastings, Jr., both died several years ago. The nearest living relatives of Mr. Curtis are two grandchildren, Clarence and Olive More of Denver Col. During his last illness he was kindly and tenderly cared for in the family of B. A. Curtiss.
