Oneida Ltd. Employe Dies At Age of 54

SYLVAN BEACH -- Kenneth [Spike] B. Armstrong, 54, of 2415 McClanthan Ave., Sylvan Beach, died at his home this morning.

Son of John and Nita Jones Armstrong, he was born May 29, 1915 in Rome. On Feb. 1, 1941 in North Bay, he married Eleanor Brown. He was a resident of Sylvan Beach for 30 years, living previously in Rome. He had been employed for 28 years in the drop forge department of Oneida Ltd.

Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Oneida Moose Lodge and the Oneida Nest of Owls.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Miss April A. Armstrong, at home; three sons, Burton K. Armstrong, Camden; Roger M. Armstrong, Oneida; Caryl J. Armstrong, at home; two sisters, Zilphia Kiser, Port Leyden; Mrs. Bradford [Winifred] Piersall, Oswego; tree brothers, Norris Armstrong, Sylvan Beach; Clinton Armstron, Oneida, Leroy Armstrong, Rome; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, Oneida. Interment will be in Rome Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are from 7 to 9 Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday.
