Louis M. James, 53, died at his home on Liberty street last Thursday at 12:50 p.m. after a long illness following an operation.
He was born in Fulton, April 13, 1874, the son of the late Schuyler and Elizabeth Spencer James. He lived for a time in Amboy but has resided in Camden the last 25 years and had been in the employment of the Dana Company and H.M. Parke.
In 1907 he was married to Miss Kittie Swanson of this village. She is the only survivor. Mr. James was a highly respected man and leaves many friends in this town and Amboy who will greatly miss him.
The funeral was held from his home Saturday 2:30 o'clock. the Rev. M. W. Van Tassell officiated. The bearers were George Ware, Fred Baker, Bert Shaver, Dexter Hubbard, Arthur Fenton and Andrew Meeker.
Out of town people present were: Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sheppard and family of Frankfort; Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson and daughter of Mexico, Mrs. Claude Stanton of West Amboy and Mrs. William DeGarmo of Ilion.
