Mrs. Lulu Thalman Broughton, widow of A..J. Broughton, died today in Pompton Lake, N.J., after a one-year illness.
Born in Rome April 23, 1876, she was a daughter of Martin and Lucy Rush Thalman. She was educated in Rome schools. On March 8, 1906, she was married here to Mr. Broughton, who died Jan. 17, 1913.
Mrs. Broughton spent her entire life in Rome until four years ago, when she moved to Teaneck, N.J., to make her home with her niece, Mrs. W.L. Williams.
She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, the Parish Guild and the Girls Friendly, For many years she was president of the church's Altar Guild.
Surviving besides , Mrs. Williams are two other nieces, Mrs. Eric W. Gundatrom, 206 W. Thomas St., and Mrs. John W. Hughes, Lake Delta; and two nephews, C. Stuart Neiss, Newark, N.J. and Frederick A. Thalman, Lake Delta, and several grand nieces and grand nephews.

BROUGHTON - On Saturday, Dec. 24, 1949 at Teaneck, N.J., Lulu Thalman, wife of the late Albert James Broughton.
Prayer service at the Thomas A. Cox Funeral Home, 109 W. Court St. Tuesday afternoon followed by funeral service at Zion Episcopal Church at 2 o'clock. Interment in Rome Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday afternoon and evening.
