Taberg, Oct 10 -- Mrs. Mary L. Clark, 83, a well-known resident of the town of Annsville, died
last Wednesday evening three miles outside this village, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Clark was a daughter of Geo. and Adelia Armstrong and a granddaughter of Nicholas Armstrong,
one of the first settlers of this town, who came here in 1811, locating on what is known as The
Meadows. For the last fifty-five years Mrs. Clark had lived in the home where she died. She was
a member of the Baptist Church, a most companionable and generous woman and her death is in a
large measure a community loss.
In 1862 she was married to Chas. Clark and the surviving relatives are four daughters: Mrs.
Seymour E. Spinning and Jennie Loveland of Rome, Mrs. Roselle E. Pullman of Camden and Miss Cora
Clark, who lived with her mother. There also survive one sister, Mrs. Robert Russell of Lee and
one brother, Alexander Armstrong of Rome.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
