Death of Mrs. Margaret A. Lock of East Syracuse, N.Y. widow of Adam Lock who were former
residents of Redfield, N.Y., Oswego County.
On November 11, 1905 Mrs. Margaret A. Lock died suddenly at 6:00 this evening at the home of her
daughter Mrs. H. E. Richardson, 143 West Manlius St. She was returning from the kitchen after
having taken a drink of water and fell down aspiring almost immediately. Death was due to a
compilation of troubles, she having been in ill healtlh for some time.
The funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon and remains being taken to Redfield for burial.
She is survived by five sons: William A., Henry S., George B. all of Chicago, Ill., Charles
A. of Camden and Frank of Redfield.
She was born in Germany 69 years ago and came to this country at 18 years of age. She made her
home in Gloversville, Fulton County but later went to Redfield, Oswego County where she met and
married Adam Lock. She was a resident there almost 40 years. She was making her home at the
time of her death with her son-in-law Dr. Herbert E. Richardson.

Dies at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Richardson, of Syracuse November 11. She had come
to this country from Germany on a sailing vessel which took 72 days in 1854.
Mrs. Lock had for years spent her winters at her daughter's and her summers at her own home in
Redfield. She was enfeebled with a complication of diseases and at last died very suddenly.
The funeral was held at the M. E. Church, November 14. Her children were all present: William,
Henry and George of Chicago; Charles of Camden, Frank of Redfield, and Mrs. Richardson and her
family. Her casket was covered with beautiful flowers and was tenderly borne by her sons. She
was a much respected woman and an honored member of the M. E. church in Redfield. Rev. Seeley
very fittingly spoke of her in the sermon. Mr. Lock died some years ago. They were both from
Germany and her age was sixty-nine years.
