Mrs. Rose Leuenberger, 79, of 111 Main Street, widow of Ernest Leuenberger, died July 10 in
a Rome Hospital.
She was born in Berne, Switzerland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Jacobs. She came to
this country in 1902, and lived in Chicago until moving here in 1942. Her husband, to whom she
was married in 1905 in North Dakota, died in 1935.
Mrs. Leuenberger was a member of the Auxiliary of Arthur S. Moran Post American Legion and the
United Presbyterian Church here.
She leaves six daughters, Mrs. Carl (Leona) Wilhelmsen, Rome; Mrs. Dewey (Myrtle) Austin, Verona;
Mrs. Harry (Rose) Wassman, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. William (Daisy) Wassman and Mrs. A. G. (Violet)
Fasching, both of Golva, N.D. and Mrs. Lily Benson, Ashland, Wis.; and six sons, Walter, Rome;
Ernest and William, Camden; Warner, Oriskany; Arnold, Vernon Center, and Fritz, Chicago.
The funeral was at 2:30 Saturday at the E. H. McDaniels Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest W.
Bittner, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Forest Park
Cemetery.
