Death of William Groat
leaves

March 9 - William Groat, after an illness of about a year, died at his home here Sunday morning aged 78.
Mr. Groat resided here all his life. He was one of the most successful and prosperous farmers in this
vicinity. His brother workers found him a neighbor in the full sense of the term. The financial standing
of the deceased was unquestionable and his accounts were not small with many. For over 40 years he
conducted the business of one farm until about five years ago he was obliged to despose of the farm owing
to declining health. In the village he bought a house where he lived comfortably. A wife is left to mourn
his loss. The funeral was held from the M.E. church Tuesday and interment in Camden cemetery.
