So...Whatta Ya Got?

I was thinking about all the things we work so hard for all of our lives...all of the things we will someday leave to our children...all of the things that--all too often-- define us and our place in this life.

We were able, once upon a time in the early- to- mid- 1970's, to buy a brand new car for about $3,500.00. Now, you can buy a used 10- year- old car for about that price. Nowadays, your new car costs as much as a house-- an appreciable house-- did back then.

Hey, its all too much! Y' know?

Really, though, the thing is... if you're in a bad part of town one night, and your car won't start, and the wrong people happen by...well, that car could be worth nothing to you real quick.

Your new $150,000.00 home would look good if it weren't so far away on that night. All of those nights that went by earlier in your life don't mean anything now, unless you spent them learning about and knowing God, eh?

You see, it just doesn't matter about all of this "stuff" if you don't have the protection that comes from God and only God. You can lose it all in a heartbeat.

What if you live and you haven't given it all to God? What about that "house- priced motor vehicle" when someone else is driving it away? What about foreclosure? It doesn't have to be illegally stolen, you know. He's, also, the God of the "deal"...and, He only wants the best deal for you.

In a heartbeat...

in a heartbeat, okay?

It can always go away.

You can't trust in your health...you can't trust in other people...you can't trust to blind luck..you can't trust in your continued ability to do your job well...if you can trust in anything or anyone , trust this...trust in the only One who can keep you, trust in the only One who can increase you, trust in the only One who upholds the world by His outstretched arm..He spoke forth into the darkness and there was light...He stretched forth the heavens like a curtain..He holds the cosmos in the palm of His hand...His eyes is on the sparrow and He knows the number of each of the hairs of your head...He knows your name.

Trust in the only One in whom you can trust.
