War of 1812
This war, involving the British, French, Canadians, Indians and Americans was basically a stalemate. Neither side could claim a clearcut victory..Every attempt by the Americans to invade Canada was turned back and the British were defeated as they attempted to invade the United States. This war, however, established the true independence of America. Again, Ludington's served proudly and honourably in the defense of their country, their lands and their families.
