Marlene was born September 11, 1933 at Rolette, North Dakota, a daughter to Adrian and Wanda (McAfee) Grenier. She attended school in Rolette and later graduated from Sacred Heart Academy at Fargo, North Dakota in 1951. Marlene was united in marriage with Delano (Del) Arneson June 26, 1954 at Antler, North Dakota. The couple lived in various areas of North Dakota, Montana and Washington through the years before moving back to Antler in 1996. she had been City Alderman in Antler the past year, even though her illness restricted her involvement somewhat.

Marlene passed away Saturday March 10, 2001 in the UniMed Medical Center, Minot, North Dakota following a lengthy illness. A Prayer Service and Rosary was held Tuesday evening, March 13th, The funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at 11:00A.M. at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Mohall, North Dakota and the burial will take place in the Antler Cemetery later in the spring.

Officiating at the service was Father Jim Braaten, Organist was Kay Southam with special music being provided by Wayne Artz. Casketbearers were Chris Wright, Lloyd Grenier, Tom Arneson, Dale Meyer, Kenny Tofteland and Ralph Spafford.

Survivors include her husband Delano Arneson of Antler, daughter Pam (Christopher) Wright - Waterville, Washington, brothers Lloyd Grenier of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dale Meyer of Baldwin City, Kansas. One sister, Berniece (Fred) Jones of Bremerton, Washington and 4 grandchildren, Natalie, Valerie, Jennifer and Henry Wright of Waterville, Wa.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Paul and Jeff Arneson.
