The geeks would always swear by me, because they are geeks for God's sake.. not mundane, lifeless bodies moving with the wind. Yet.... yes - yet there are serious differences when it comes to brass tacks, and decision making in weird situations. I must say that I dont regret any major decisions taken in my life. For everytime there was an abundance of lateral thinking that preceded every decision. Though sometimes the thinking was at lightning speed, but thinking - yes I did. Guys..., does it look like some pompous trumpet sounding in the neighbourhood. Sorry... just a fact that I needed to put on record.
Greed is such a ghoulish vice, it makes me sick. I have read somewhere in the recent past, that 'empires are built on foundations of greed, secrecy and excessive materialism'. It was shocking. How much of the greed, secrecy and materialism do we enjoy. We are still not saints, so we do carry around a good amount of this on ourselves. So are we all bad.. mmm .. I dont know, for I am not a judge. Excessive greed is a product of the general apathy we have of our own fellow human beings. Most of the time, when I see a castaway on the road, I always think the next time it could be me in his place. Such feelings nourishes a small sense of empathy, that I am obligated by the will of God. For every living being is an individual and angelic creation of Him.
Medieval theologian Thomas Aquinas said that greed is a sin against one's neighbour since one cannot be overloaded with riches, without another man lacking them. Further he says that since it is a sin again your own neighbour, it is a sin against God himself.... hits you like a tonne of bricks. The Catholic Church (I am not propogating any relegion here... the reference is just newsworthy vis-a-vis the blog and nothing more), lately came out with new sins to be included which is in line with modernity and its opulent corporatocracy. Some of the sins are pollution, genetic manipulation and social and economical injustice. The last one is nothing but greed. Accumulation of wealth much beyond the requirement is a sin. Looks like Marxism to me, but I guess this must be to hit the nail on the head of people who not only amass wealth but who are apathetic to the civilization around them.
