The world could be better place to live in.
Bombay for a week
photo

Silence from my side.. was away in Bombay (I refuse to call it Mumbai.. for personal reason). It was a hectic week with no connectivity. I had a few minutes of internet just to check mails, and refrained from doing anything more than that.

The place is swarming of humans and vehicles of every kind. You literally rub shoulders with everybody on the road, because the place is packed, even on the footpaths. But I think that is supposed to be the beauty of Bombay... crowded but nonchalant, unemotional yet sensitive when it comes to issues relevant to society, and of course accomodating.. sparing the few incidents of vitriolic revulsions preached by the Shiv Sena and its brother concerns and sister concerns. I did not go out to shop, which I normally would have done. I did not visit any malls, nor did I eat out. Yes I saw a Hindi movie - Hum, Tum and whatever.... Tickets provided by Audrey's brother-in-law. The movie was fine except that it dragged laboriously sometimes. The theme was good, but somewhere down the line, they forgot what they were supposed to narrate. But it was still OK, to sit for three hours away from the heat and humidity of the city. So did I spend any money at all.. No.. Shame upon me.

Returned back to Mangalore late in the evening, as the flight was delayed by an hour. Rough landing. I thought after the new runway came up in Mangalore we would have some soft landings. Boeing preaches positive landings... nice eh for all the pilots to hide behind. Rough is OK, but after landing he was all over the runway.. right and left. I could actually synchroise my legs with the rudder pedals upfront in the cockpit. But at least we were on ground and parked.. Just for everybody's info, there was a 14 knot cross wind. So let us give the pilots their dues boys. We had Rosso our macaw waiting for us. He would not leave my hand for a long time. Just held it and kept saying some gibberish. He was happy to see us back. I dont know where I am going to leave him when I go away from Mangalore soon. I need to find some animal lovers to adopt him.. for he is too human to be left in the zoo... it is terrifying to even think of it.

I am seeing my neurologist today to find out why my lower jaw pulls to the left sometimes.. I thought his medicines and the physio therapy put an end to this. Doctors are doctors.. you just cant be cured with one visit to them. The last thing you hear from them everytime you visit is - see me in three days. Why ????????

I had a nice comment posted by Yousuf over one of my blogs.. Thoughtful of him. My only apprehension is.. what happens if I have to stay back in India and not go to Qatar. I know all my friends from there would never forget me, and would surely drop in to say hello when they come over to India. But this would be once a year visit and not the usual everyday interaction I had for a long time. I hope my cabin in the office still has the same sanctity.. I mean does Jitin close the door of the cabin when he has to give the doze......
