I always wondered how a film was made.. or for that matter how a film gets conceptualised. An idea is developed into a concept, and after a few months canned as a film. Is that so simple, or is it a tough job.
I think it is dead easy.. as easy as playing marbles. We in the office just conceptualised (correct the spelling please .. if it is wrong), a movie in 180 seconds flat. This boosts up my morale to an extent that I now feel comfortable producing a film with my meagre savings.. in Mangalore. Just for the information of all those illiterate about our office.. we also conceptualised a multi million dollar barber shop.. complete with its CEO, GM et al..., a few months ago.
And who was the inspiration for the film making.. of course - Sherin. He has this dramatic movements of his neck.. sorry face.. sorry head (I am still to figure out what moves first.. head... neck or face).. that inspires us all to become Shakespearean characters. I will leave all the Macbethean roles to Sherin.. It needs pathos and seriousness, which we lack. Probably L. Safia can be given a hideous role there. I will one day explain what "L" means in Safia, for all those illiterate ones.
Sheela, Sandhya and me got this idea of a film just standing around and joking. Due credit to Melicia who is the silent referee always. Was there a story for the film.. I dont think so. Though I know Sandhya nearly wrote the script in the 180 seconds we had. Before anything, we doled out roles to everybody. I definitely wanted to be the hero, before people would realise my capital 50 years of age. Heroine.. who was it Sandhya. You are the director. I think you in all your magnanimity made Varunee the heroine., I am touched. The lipstick mark has still not gone. (Yousuf.. dont rush to the bathroom to look at the mirror). It is me talking about. The generous Sheela wanted two villans and a "villi". The silent villan.. who else - Sherin. Eh why does he get butchered even if he is not involved.. Poor him.
The Pakistanis, Somalians, Sri Lankans and the Bangaladeshis failed to get any roles.. The Indian mafia ruled throughout. We are still looking out for producers.. who can sink money. Please do trust me. Sandhya is a good writer/director. Notice to everybody - the casting couch does not exist. I have a feeling the trillionaire Mr. Somnath has showed some interest with the billionarire Mr. Jishu to produce the movie. I dont know the name of the movie.. but the name of the production house is - THE FIVE STAR TUNNEL PRODUCTIONS.
