The world could be better place to live in.
Life outside the make-believe Utopia

I was always fascinated by the word 'Utopia'. Was there anytime a place like Utopia. My Hindu brothers say Ram-Rajya is more Utopian. My muslim brothers 'Jannath" is "Utopia" . My exposure to society both Utopian and Dystopian is very limited. My Utopia is in having half dozen friends with whom I work, and who understand me as a human. My Utopia is in finding my own children believe in me - a tall order at that. My Utopia is in finding a genunie human being in Yousuf from Pakistan.. it is not 'supposed' to be right in trying to find a human in Pakistan being an Indian. Incidentally Yousuf married an Indian. My Utopia is in finding pleasure in knowing that everyone from Doha who comes to Mangalore, either calls me up or comes home. And my ultimate Utopia lies in my freedom to have two big 'Patialas' in the evening.... EVERYDAY. Patialas... for those who are not connoisseurs of liquor and spirits.. is the measure of drink coined by the lovely people of Punjab... it is half a glass or more of drink before you add water or anything superficial.

Everyone has a definition of Utopia. Utopia need not be an ideal society per se. It is anything that is ideal for each individual. It is the ability and freedom for a person to get drunk and lie on the roads. It is the ability and freedom to do what you believe.. I don't at times. It is the ability and freedom to terrorise and live with a gun for some. Cant blame anybody. Freedom as a definition does not define good freedom and bad freedom. Many blame me for not being tuned with the society around me. My question - does this society feed me, or does it ensure my security when I am old. So why care for a senseless and inane society. I dont kill for a living. I am a good man (pompous....!) but I am. I care for others. I am concerned. I knew the seriousness of global warming.... probably even before Al-Gore made the documentary on it and won the Nobel prize.

So.... ladies and gentlemen... let me live in my 'Utopia' peacefully.

Love to all.
