This indenture of bargain sale and conveyance made & entered into this 20th day of March between John (blank -- should read Benge - Sharon Peel) & wife of the one part and Patsey Robertson of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I have this day bargained & sold unto the said Patsey Robertson the following boundry of land lying and being in the County of Clay & State of Kentucky on the waters of Rockcastle river and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on Barton Potter's tan yard tract on the west side of said tract thence as marked to Pike Cornetts line thence with said Cornett's line near a 1/4 of a mile thence something like a due east course to said Potters line as marked thence with said Potters line to the beginning. To have and to hold unto the said Patsey Robertson her heirs & assigns forever free from the claim of ourselves our heirs and all persons whatsoever we will warrant and defend the title to the same.

I, W Woodcock Clerk of the County Court aforesaid certify that this deed from John Benge & wife to Patsey Robertson was this day produced to me in my office & acknowledged by the grantors to be their act & deed & the said Delpha Benge being by me examined privately and apart from her husband declared she did freely and willingly seal & deliver said writing & wished not to retract it & acknowledged the same again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed & consented that the same might be recorded where upon said deed together with the foregoing certificate have duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 20th day of March 1851.
